Oliver Ambrose- Managing Director
Whether it's a refurbishment, extension or a new build, it is a very time consuming, stressful and perplexing project to many without the required experience or knowledge.
Conceptual Homes can design a bespoke and cost effective solution around your project to help you achieve your goals.
Firstly we would arrange an initial design meeting to discuss your proposals and prepare feasibility studies, once sketch designs are approved, we will progress to preparing designs for planning applications, working drawings and preparing construction documents through to building and handover.
Areas we specialise in
Main contractor duties
Design and Build
Residential & Commercial
Restoration and Remodels
See our BIM (Building Information Modelling) page for more insight into how we work.
Having over 18 years of experience using Leica surveying equipment and state of the art AutoCAD software, we are able to survey almost any building and its contents. Should it be a listed building requiring a detailed elevation , marking up existing service runs, setting out, quantifying areas or a simple as built plan of your property, please contact with your requirements so we can advise.
A detailed and accurate survey is the is the first and most important step in any architectural project. Buildings often look straight to the eye, but believe us, they are often not! A reliable survey provides vital information such as levels, accuracy of surfaces, existing surfaces etc, all of which are essential elements when carrying out feasibility studies of proposals.
As built plans 'existing' (essential for general records, boundaries, structural proposals & planning applications)
BIM- Building Information Modelling
Elevations- ( ideal for shop frontage alterations, signage applications etc)
Topographic Surveys (required for understanding the levels of the site)
Services (External) and Internal for example trenches , lighting plans, ventilation runs, ceiling frames etc.
Drainage (Marking laid drainage routes assist many builders with new services to a property.
Setting datum points (How high is the screed to be poured to? This assists the contractor to pinpoint low spots in the concrete)
Floor Surveys, essential before tiling (helps pinpoint low spots where latex may be required to create a perfect level floor, assists in quantifying adhesives).
Tree heights within 250m (Trees left undamaged can cause problems to properties. A simple survey to show a trees position and height can be helpful to assist planning applications).
Layouts as per AutoCAD plans (architectural plans can be uploaded to our machine and transferred to the site to assist contractors, garden walls, boundaries, fences etc.
BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING
To ensure an accurate quotation of your project we specialise in recreating the standard 2D plans into a 3D BIM model using the latest market leading software . We have proved several times over how valuable this process is.
in brief, BIM- Building Information Modelling is a coordinated set of processes, supported by technology, that add value by creating, managing and sharing the properties of an asset throughout its lifecycle . Models incorporate graphic, physical, commercial environmental and operational data . In brief, a detailed model will provide very accurate quantities of materials required for the build, enabling us to provide you, the customer an accurate quotation!
The move from 2D drawings to 3D models is well underway and gathering steam in the architectural, engineering and construction industry!
The wealth of information that's easily accessible about project sites has expanded greatly with better mapping tools and images of Earth. With BIM, designers can have all of that input compiled and shared in a model.
In advance of construction, BIM also enables the project team to "build' the project in a virtual environment, rehearsing complex procedures, optimizing temporary works designs and planning procurement of materials, equipment and manpower.
The BIM tool set helps automate clash detection of elements such as electrical conduit or duct work that run into a beam. By modelling all of these things first, clashes are discovered early and costly on-site clashes can be reduced.
Faster project delivery
Time savings of up to 50% can be achieved by agreeing the design concept early in project development to eliminate late stage design changes; resolving complex construction details before the project goes on site; avoiding clashes, producing fabrication and construction drawings directly from the model, and using model data to control construction equipment.
Exact quantity take-offs mean that the materials are not over- ordered. Use of the BIM model for automated fabrication of equipment and components enables more efficient materials handling and waste recovery.
